A Brief History

The Environmental Professionals of Florida was incorporated in November of 1999. This action was taken in response to the desires of the profession to have standards of performance and conduct. From 1995 to 1999 the legislators of the State of Florida were presented with proposals which would create a formal state license requirement. These proposals  were not supported by the elected officials. A poll of environmental professionals resulted in a 99.8% mandate that a private organization be instituted to initiate a program wherein the profession would regulate itself.
